Song For Wistaria

The scarlet flowers blossomed
on top of two pale white stalks
While two giant metal falcons crashed their heads into them
And you panic, you're stunned and you run,
Screamin' in unison
And the mess, the ashes and flesh
Heap'd up in a flash

Humble weeds we are
Could we crack down the wall
However near or far
But it's way too dear, it's so far to dear
To trade our lives for
A minute of terror and fear

Song for Wistaria took me years to finish. The lyric came up about a year after 911 incident. I was preparing for my A-Level exam when Dad yelled watching the breaking news on telly. I felt as though I were there and I couldn't sleep that night. The words were straightforward, portraying the scenario. Of no doubt the most terrible collective memory in 10 years.
